We recently got a booking for a wedding at the Winter Gardens in Margate and so, being relatively new to the area, we decided to take a little day trip to Margate to do a recce! We love Margate - the harbour is fab with its cute little micro pub and Scandi coffee shop and galleries, and of course the Turner Contemporary is pretty special too. We enjoyed seeing the Anthony Gormley statue get gradually covered by the tide, and I adored wandering around all the little shops in the old town. Anyway, I digress. The Winter Gardens. What a venue! It's like stepping back in time to the days of the Royal Variety Performances (in the days when people actually watched them) and I felt as if Ken Dodd and the Nolans were going to pop out from behind a door at any moment. We are very excited to be filming at this venue. It's so grand and I love all of the red velvet! It is definitely the venue for a HUGE wedding; if you're like me and have about 3,000 cousins it's perfect. And it's on the seafront so lots of opportunities for a really stylish wedding video: waves crashing, gulls calling, the golden sand and, hopefully, blue sky. There are also very pretty gardens right next to the venue - thinking about it, I guess that's why it's called the Winter GARDENS, I suppose. Anyway, it's a great venue from our perspective as it's all so atmospheric, both inside and out. We can't wait to capture that atmosphere on film and create a wonderful Margatian (?) wedding film!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
