If you are looking for a wedding ceremony venue in London but you don't want a religious building then I can thoroughly recommend Islington Town Hall. It is truly one of the most most beautiful buildings I have been in and the main ceremony room, the Council Chamber, is awe inspiring. We got married there, so I could be accused of being a little biased, but it really is a special place. It's just so different to all the usual 'ceremony rooms'. The lay out is circular for a start, and the oak panelled walls and red leather seating have a very courtly feel to them. As with the jewelled bouquets in one of my previous blogs, if you are the type of person who likes to be different, then this is the venue for you. They were also very lovely people. Cynthia, our registrar was very warm, down to earth and had a wonderful sense of humour which was perfect for us as we like to laugh and we try not to take things too seriously. They were also very relaxed with our videographer and photographer (some venues give you a position and you have to stay there - the horror!). I love the colours in our wedding video, the reds of the council chamber pop out and make it a very vibrant film to watch. We have a mixture of Kent weddings and London weddings so far booked in for 2018 but none at Islington Town Hall yet. I would love to film there... so if anybody knows anybody...you know what to do!
