Wedding Film Music Tracks

March 19, 2018

We have met with a few brides and grooms recently who have said they are struggling to find music for their big day that they both agree on! It is hard as there are so many key moments to cover: bride's entrance and walk up the aisle, signing of the register, bride and groom's walk down the aisle, first dance... Bill and I spent WEEKS getting together our music; guests arrival at the town hall playlist, ceremony playlist, canapes playlist and disco playlist. We agonised over whether Chic's Le Freak was a better track than Chic's Good Times (Good Times won), we fretted that there weren't enough 50s and 60s tracks for the Aunties and Uncles, and we lost sleep over whether You Give A Little Love from Bugsy Malone was strong enough for the finale at the end of the night (it was, obvs).

It's the same for your wedding video. The music choices have to match what's going on in the film. I have to say, we love this kind of thing though. I can lose an entire evening on Spotify trying to find an appropriate track for the post ceremony drinks part of the film. We usually use the First Dance and Bride's Entrance tracks  - that's pretty much a given. But then, depending on the length of the video we are giving, there's usually room for another 3 or 4 tracks. We've been surprised at how many couples don't really have any preferences or suggestions - we are certainly not complaining; like I said, we LOVE choosing stuff - it's just interesting. We have to be careful as not everyone knows or likes Tom Waits or Cat Power (used on our film), but something I came across recently that I thought brides may like is the track below. I really love I Can't Help Falling In Love With You; I walked down the aisle to a string quartet playing it. This is a nice, modern version which I think will work well on one of our films as it could have a very large appeal...
