The Orangery, Maidstone

October 10, 2019

We had LOTS going on in August, but I want to blog in particular about our first time at The Orangery in Maidstone. We were there for the wedding of Stacey and Roy who had found us via the wonderful Lee at Blushing Bride Photography and we were so lucky to be there - it is a STUNNING venue. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and desperately wished Bill and I weren't married yet so that we could choose it for our own wedding! Perhaps we'll have to do a vow renewal in a few years...

So, back to Stacey and Roy's wedding day. Well, first of all, they had the most beautiful weather, it was perfect, and so I enjoyed my early morning, catching some footage of the ducks waking up and the bees and butterflies getting their breakfast in the glorious gardens. It really is a beautiful venue to shoot, so many lovely scenes to open the perfect wedding film! As videographers, when we walk into a venue like this we just think 'YES!'

All was calm in the Wisteria Suite where Stacey and her girls - and mum - were getting ready. That's where Lee and I were, while Bill and Jon were at Stacey and Roy's house with him and the boys. There was lots of lovely light in the room as everyone got ready and I ended up with tons of lovely footage.

While the girls were getting ready, the boys were zooming around in their fast cars, squeezing in a cheeky shandy before the ceremony. We've got some great footage of their shenanigans and I can't wait for the happy couple to see it!

The ceremony was outdoors and their gorgeous twin babies led Stacey up the aisle in a remote control car! It was super cute and looks great in the film. After the ceremony, Lee and I headed off with the newlyweds to get some footage in the beautiful grounds and they did not disappoint...

The reception was lovely with some very touching speeches, and then onto the evening do which included a fabulous LIVE BAND called GrooveZoo, a photobooth and a race car driving game which looked like lots of fun. Oh, and not forgetting the fabulous upside down wedding cake!!

What a stylish day it was. As ever, thanks go to Lee at Blushing Bride Photography and, of course, to Stacey and Roy for allowing us to share in their beautiful day xx
