Wedding photographers and videographers
There is so much to think about when planning a wedding: the venue, the dress, the flowers, the food; and each element seems to take ages to finalise, with emails to write, pre-wedding meetings, forms to fill out and deposits to be paid. Things can potentially become a real headache with so many different people to communicate with. This is why some rather clever wedding suppliers are joining forces and offering packages so you have less to organise - at the same time saving a bit of money - and what’s not to love about that?
The most ingenious partnership of course, is the wedding photographer and videographer. It’s important that these guys work as a team as they are going to be spending all day together, working in close proximity to each other, often vying for the same killer shots. They need to be able to be professional, friendly and not keep getting in each other’s way! It can be tricky if they don’t know each other and have different styles or expectations of how the other person will work.
But if they know each other well and have worked together before, it takes away all of these potential issues. The bride and groom meet with one set of people as opposed to two, pay one deposit, fill out one booking form and don’t need to worry about whether their photographer and videographer will be tripping each other up to get the best shot as they walk down the aisle.
So I feel very lucky that Bill and I had the good fortune to meet Lee and Jon from Blushing Bride Photography on our very first wedding fair in Kent. From that first day at Kent Cricket ground we became firm friends and colleagues and have shot quite a few weddings together, with lots booked in for 2021. The joint package that we offer is an all singing, all dancing full coverage extravaganza, if you will, of photography and videography.
Our package, and our partnership, is pretty unique in that there are four of us. This means that while the bride is being photographed and filmed by Lee and I as she gets ready (all the girls together!), the groom is also being filmed and photographed by Jon and Bill (all the boys together!). Comprehensive coverage is guaranteed when you have photographs and film being shot from more than one angle. So while the bride and groom share their first kiss as husband and wife, you might get to see guests’ reactions too. Same for the speeches: when the best man tells an embarrassing story about the groom, we may also see the grooms mortified face!
Because we have worked together before, we know how everybody works, we know where we are going to stand for the ceremony and aisle walks and we can communicate easily with each other if we need to adjust our position. We get on well and love what we do so when you meet us at the pre-wedding meeting you’ll see we are relaxed in each others’ company but also very well organised; and on your big day you can be confident that you are in good hands as we get on with capturing the minutiae of a day that you will remember for the rest of your lives!
